[edit] Open The Case
First of all, we need to open up the Wl-HDD case.
If the WL-HDD is new, it may not have been screwed shut. In this case, the screws probably came in a sealed plastic bag.
If your WL-HDD has not yet been screwed shut, read this first.
To unscrew the case, you will need a 2.4mm crosspoint screwdriver.
- Remove both of the rubber screw covers
- Remove both of the screws and place somewhere safe
- Carefully pull on the front panel of the WL-HDD. The circuit board should come out of the casing.
- Be careful not to touch any of the circuitry and do not get any crumbs or dust on the board.
- Take the 2.5" hard disk drive and lie it on the supports stuck on the circuit board.
- Now, very slowly, push the hard disk into the mount, making sure that the pins line up perfectly and that they are not strained!
- Once the hard disk is in place, reinsert the circuit board into the casing.
- Ensure you do this with the circuit board the right way up, otherwise the hard disk will hang down on the pins alone!!
- Reinsert the screws and screw them in tightly.
- Place the rubber screw covers back in.
- Attach the antenna
Now just plug it in and off we go!
