[edit] Adding Users

This guide will allow you to create new users on your WL-HDD.

This is useful if you want to create users who can access the FTP server or if you want to switch to Samba user-based access instead of using the guest account.

You can assign each user individual access rights by setting up directory permissions correctly.

[edit] adduser

Adding users using the adduser package. This guide will help you install and run the adduser package to add new users to your WL-HDD.

This guide will allow you to create new users on your WL-HDD.

[edit] FTP Users

This guide will allow users to login to the VSFTP server on the WL-HDD without giving them access to the whole filesystem.

This is called chroot

You can also create multiple users and let many people login to your FTP server, each with their own username and password.

[edit] Samba with Users

This guide will allow samba to be user protected on a LAN. Rather than using the samba guest account which is considered rather insecure, users will have to have a username and password to use samba.

[edit] Making Groups

This guide will allow you to create and modify user groups on your WL-HDD. This is useful for setting up access rights for FTP or Samba shares.
